In working days in Davos, Vietnam delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh had meetings with the goal of promoting widely Vietnam business investment environment, while reflecting the stance and perspective of Vietnam contribution in international and regional issues. The Deputy Prime Minister participated in six sessions within the WEF: morning working session of the "ASEAN Business Council", senior dialogue session of "Agenda of Global Food Security", lunch working session between leaders of the world economy about many topics, and the session "Prospects for global geopolitics 2015". In particular, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Cao Duc Phat, Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Dang Huy Dong chaired the dialogue with the international businesses. On the same day, Deputy Prime Minister had bilateral meetings with Vice President of Switzerland Schneider Amman, WEF Executive Director Philip Roesler, Duke of York- Andrew Prince (UK), Chairman of JETRO Hyroyuki Ishige, and Policy Director - Managing Director of Swiss Novartis Company.
In these activities, the Deputy Prime Minister highlighted the positive recovery of Vietnam economy in recent years, focuses of economic reform and integration in the future; reaffirmed the commitment of the Vietnam government to improve the investment environment, and highlight investment opportunities after completing the FTA negotiations. At the High-level Dialogue on "Shaping the Agenda of Global Food Security" Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh shared the experience of Vietnam in stabling agricultural development, ensuring national food security and contributing to global food security. Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Cao Duc Phat joined the discussion, shared experiences of Vietnam in implementing the initiative of "New Vision for Agriculture" in the form of public-private partnership, calling for enterprises' investment in Agriculture in Vietnam. In the discussion of the ASEAN Politics and Security, Deputy Prime Minister stressed the role and responsible contribution of Vietnam to ASEAN and the region, confirmed the position and consistent Vietnam policy in the South China Sea issue.
Ahead of the ASEAN Community, to be formed in late 2015, ASEAN has attracted much attention at the conference. In the discussion on ASEAN, participants had positive evaluation of potential opportunities, and potential after the formation of an ASEAN's common market, free movement of goods, services, capital and skilled labor . ASEAN leaders reaffirmed their determination to continue to promote regional integration and narrowing the development gap, improving competitiveness and facilitating international business investment in ASEAN and the ASEAN country members. Partners and leaders of international corporations in contact with Vietnam delegation have confirmed to appreciate cooperation with Vietnam, positive assessment about Vietnam economy, and placed expectations on Vietnam investment opportunity after the completion of FTA negotiations Some corporations announced plans to expand investment and business in Vietnam and Vietnam government hoped to continue supporting and improving the investment environment for foreign firms to conduct their long-term business in Vietnam.
Leaders of some Vietnam enterprises are now members of WEF such as FPT, VinaCapital, and Vingroup... They has actively participated in activities at the WEF Davos 2015 Conference, actively contributing to the determination of integration, reaching out world market of domestic enterprises.
