In the morning of the opening day, there were seven out of twelve programs officially launched including Dalat Flowers and Vegetable's Fair; "Dalat-4 flower seasons" Exhibition; art garden "Winter Paradise"; award ceremony of a cuisine contest "Golden Spoon 2014"; Japanese cultural days in Dalat; "Flower Colors in the Cold Land" Exhibition; and "Flower Tourism" tours. Accordingly, 3 main programs in the opening day were Flower Colors in the Cold Land" Exhibition, Dalat Flowers and Vegetable's Fair, and "Dalat-4 flower seasons" Exhibition. "Flower Colors in the Cold Land" Exhibition took place in Dalat Flower Garden. The exhibition displayed typical and special Dalat flowers and products made from wood and stone. Especially, this was the first time Dalat organizing a contest among 15 miniatures on a theme "The proud of Dalat - The City of Flower Festival". These miniatures represented for Dalat natural landscapes, monuments, and people. They were meticulously created by skillful artisans and exhibited by topic in Dalat Flower Garden Square.
Dalat Flowers and Vegetable's Fair was held in Nguyen Van Cu Street with the attendance of 31 enterprises and 70 booths specializing in growing and producing flowers, vegetables, and handicrafts. The fair attracts many local and international travelers visiting and going shopping. Mr. Nguyen Cong Thua, Chairman of Anh Dao Agricultural Services Cooperative said that Joining in the closing program of Vietnam National Tourism Year 2-14, Anh Dao Agricultural Services Cooperative brought to Dalat Flowers and Vegetable's Fair typical and special products. Through Dalat Flowers and Vegetable's Fair, Anh Dao Agricultural Services Cooperative hoped to exhibit Dalat products which are made by the high technology to Vietnamese people throughout the country and international friends.
Dalat-4 flower seasons" Exhibition took place on Thuy Ta Park to introduce 8,000 Dalat flowerpots and 120 wooden statues of ethnic minorities in the Central Highlands. This was a new space to serve visitor's demand of going sightseeing and explore special culture and solidarity of the peoples of the Central Highlands. According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Nguyen, Director of Lam Dong Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, and Member of the Organizing Committee of Central Highlands – Dalat National Tourism Year 2014, Dalat – Colors of Winter Festival is a wonderful occasion to introduce Dalat potentials and strengths of natural landscapes, tourism products, as well as high-quality agricultural products to both domestic and international friends.
