Most recently, a Spain online booking tour agent Atrapalo informed that Vietnam was one of the most favorite destination of its clients along with American and India. According to the preliminary statistics of General Statistics Office of Vietnam, in 2013, Vietnam welcomed nearly 33,200 Spanish visitors, an increase of 24% in comparison to the previous year. In the first 10 months of this year, the total arrivals from this southern European country exceeded the numbers of guests visiting Vietnam in 2013 and reached 34,200 - 24% up on the previous year.
Besides, on November 5th, a large number of travelers who have interest in Southeast Asia tourism participated in a seminar in Buenos Aires (Argentina) to get more information in terms of country, people, and special culture of this region. In the seminar, Vietnam Ambassador in Argentina Nguyen Dinh Thao and Executive Director of Chamber of Commerce for Asia and the Pacific - Martín Lo Coco and Viviana Castro introduced main features of history, culture, tourism potential, and attractive destinations in the South East Asia in general and Vietnam in particular. Ms. Viviana Castro stated that Vietnam was an attractive tourist destination. After visiting Vietnam, Argentinian travelers shared that their Vietnam trip exceeded their expectation. Argentine people understand struggles of Vietnamese people in war to protect the country, however, not many Argentinians know about different images of developing Vietnam as today, therefore, Chamber of Commerce for Asia and the Pacific desires to promote Vietnamese current images to Argentinians. Vietnam has become an attractive destination for Argentine tourists. It is estimated that each year Vietnam welcome 10,000 arrivals from Argentina.
At the end of October this year, Tan Son Nhat Airport welcomed special flights from Ecaterinburg, Russia. This is the first flight opening a tourist season of Russian travelers to avoid winter. This Boeing B777-200 of Nordwind Airlines, which belongs to Pegas Toristik carried 287 passengers including 101 of passengers on entry to Tan Son Nhat Airport and the rest continuing their trip in Phu Quoc. Over a period of 5 recent years, there has been an increase in the number of Russian tourists travel to Vietnam. They travel in two seasons including winters and summers and often choose coastal city as their destinations. Therefore, Nha Trang and Phan Thiet are the most favorite destinations of Russian travelers. According to the statistics of Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, in the early 9 months in 2014, Vietnam welcomed 264,755 Russian arrivals, increased 28.5% comparing to 2013.
